26 years ago today, the first beta version of Counter-Strike was released. The beta version was a Half-Life mod and is considered the birth of the Counter-Strike franchise. The full version of Counter-Strike was later released on November 9, 2000.

Being a 26 year old idea, the game keeps growing in popularity and will continue long into the future.
