People have been speculating for years over the possible introduction of Brno being booked into the IEM calendar. More now, than ever, is this beginning to become a possibility. The city of Brno, in the Czech Republic, has taken it upon themselves to start the largest strategic project of the city. From their website it states, “We are building a new modern multifunctional hall equipped with cutting-edge technologies at the Brno Exhibition Centre, where you can enjoy cultural and sports events. The construction of the hall itself began in September 2023. We will welcome the first visitors after its completion in 2026!” – Arena Brno via https://arenabrno.cz/.

The hall itself will hold a capacity of 13,000 seats, and the city will be building approximately 1,300 parking spaces along with it. With over 30,000 m2 of build space and the 13,000 capacity, it is perfect for hosting a Counter-Strike event. With the arena being round in size the stage would most likely have to be in the middle, unless IEM do the same in Katowice, where they heavily reduce seating for screens and the stage. The emerging Arena is already holding host to three major sports championships with the addition of hockey and MMA already reserving their spots throughout the year!

The accessibility for viewers and fans seems ideal, with the airport only an approximate 20 minute drive from the Arena and with the Arena being 10-20 minutes away from the nightlife. Great factors to add in when hosting a highly anticipated gaming event.
