G2 can finally claim a trophy win after their best of five grand final against Vitality. The two teams battled it out to see who would be lifting the BLAST Open trophy here in London. Going all the way to five maps, G2 were able to best Vitality in a dominant decider of Train and claim champion status.

Going into the match, coach sAw spoke to us and revealed that, it wouldn’t be easy but they had a chance against Vitality as they had been dropping maps to other teams recently. Here was no different with G2 taking the side all the way to a Train decider where G2 threw them off the tracks.

Vitality had some awful starts to some maps with their best player Zywoo struggling to get a kill going 0-6 on two of the maps played. On G2’s map pick of Inferno, Vitality had the chance to close it out, however they over thought the round executing B site with 30 seconds to go and losing to a force buy with mp9’s and deagles. This in turn lead to a G2 comeback on OT and their closure of the map to go to Train. On Train, G2 made Vitality look like a tier 2 team. One of HuNter-‘s very last calls was a fake save to run down the clock. He then sent MATYS into B site forcing all of Vitality to rotate with 10 seconds left, the remaining members of G2 planted A and won the game. G2 are now crowned champions of BLAST Open London 2025.
