Day 2 at the Esports World Cup has concluded, waving goodbye to four more teams and leaving four teams to battle it out in the Quarter-Finals of the World Cup here in Riyadh. Here is a breakdown of the action in day 2.

G2 vs Falcons

G2 took on the Saudi organisation of Falcons in their elimination series. G2 did not look coordinated, unable to accrue rounds for themselves. Falcons, however, were playing in form. They shutdown G2 at any opportunity they were allowed to. They beat G2 2-0 in the series, eliminating the from the tournament and securing their spot in the Quarter-Finals at the EWC 2025.

MOUZ vs Virtus.Pro

MOUZ took on Virtus.Pro in their elimination game of the World Cup. MOUZ have looked incredible in the last year, however, in their opening map of Inferno against VP, they struggled to get rounds on the board. Virtus.Pro stomped them on Inferno, giving them a 1-0 lead in the series. This did not deter MOUZ. They powered through the second map, beating Virtus.Pro 13-4 very convincingly leaving the game to go to the decider of Overpass. In a very close map on Overpass, MOUZ were able to best VP and eliminate them. This means they will be joining Falcons in the Quarter-Finals of the Esports World Cup in Saudi.

The MongolZ vs 3DMAX

The Mongolian side took on the French side to see who would be heading to the Semi-Finals of the Esports World Cup in Riyadh. The MongolZ have had incredible deep runs in tournaments over the last year. They looked strong in their first map Ancient. On map two, 3DMAX demonstrated their firepower securing that in their favour. This left Nuke. The decider of one of these teams fates. In a courageous battle for yard, The MongolZ were able to best the French side and secure their position in the Semi-Finals. 3DMAX are now eliminated.

TYLOO vs Vitality

TYLOO took on Vitality. In this matchup, Vitality stomped TYLOO. They left TYLOO no breathing space on any part of this series. They dominated on Inferno with Zywoo going 24-7 in the K/D department. In the second map of Nuke, they also just annihilated TYLOO with Zywoo and FlameZ popping off in that map. They swiftly beat them 2-0 in the series and advance to the Semi-Finals of the Esports World Cup.
