Yesterday CS2 revealed an update that only featured in the test/ beta version of Counter-Strike 2. They released this update for the player base to test out on that version of the game. However, with the negative feedback they decided to push the update today anyways! They revealed in their patch notes yesterday that they have made the decision to change the way defusing occurs in-game.
These updates to defusing consist of:
- While defusing the bomb you can no longer scope
- The players view model will lower when defusing
- There is now a 150ms fire delay after you stop defusing
This can make a significant difference to how post plant situations and clutch/ fake defusing is now played at a professional level. The one good thing to come out from this, is that you will still be able to use grenades while defusing.
Defusing the bomb with the M4A4 will lose you 2 bullets from pre update to the update today. After tapping the bomb it takes that extra couple of seconds that you lose 2 bullets worth of time compared to the old way of defusing.
During the trial period on the beta/ test server there was a bug that allowed you to shoot rapidly with the AWP after defusing, this however has been patched before todays release of the mechanic.
