Day 2 of Stage 3 of the Austin Major has concluded. We have seen 2 teams head straight to the playoffs and say goodbye to two more who have been eliminated. We have another recap of the Austin Major Stage 3 – Day 2 below!

3DMAX vs Vitality

The first game of the day was a fight between the two French sides of 3DMAX and Vitality. 3DMAX have had to run through Stage 1 and Stage 2 to get this moment. Vitality, after their rough start to Stage 3, were able to obliterate and smash 3DMAX out the park, beating them 13-2 in the best of one. No player on the 3DMAX side was able to get double digits in the kill department. Vitality are now 2-1 and 3DMAX are 1-2.

Legacy vs FaZe

Legacy, who also had to make it through Stage 1 and 2, took on the side of FaZe in their best of one. In this rematch from Stage 2, where Legacy beat FaZe 2:0 in a best of three, FaZe actually were able to best the side of Legacy in this matchup. Legacy started strong leading 6-2 at one point however, they could only win 2 rounds after FaZe started accumulating rounds. FaZe ultimately pulled through and beat the Brazilian side 13-8. FaZe now head to the 2-1 bracket leaving Legacy in the 1-2 bracket.

Aurora vs G2

Aurora, who have looked a bit shaky in this tournament so far, took on the side of G2. G2, who have a stand-in, were not the favorites to win this best of one. However, G2 were able to take down Aurora a dominating 13-4 on Inferno. This sends G2 to the 2-1 bracket and leaves Aurora fighting on the verge of elimination in the 1-2 bracket. huNter- and JottAAA carried both their teams respectively, however huNter-‘s side of G2 were able to prevail.

The MongolZ vs Lynn Vision

The Mongolian side took on the very confident and strong looking Chinses side of Lynn Vision. The MongolZ ultimately won this matchup 13-7, with Lynn Vision struggling to win a single T round on their second half on Nuke. Lynn Vision head down to the 1-2 bracket and The MongolZ head to the 2-1 bracket.

FURIA vs Virtus.pro

FURIA and Virtus.pro battled it out to see who would be heading straight to the playoffs at the Austin Major 2025. On the first map of Mirage, ICY was the only player on the side of VP to have more than 5 kills with a incredible… 11. Everyone else on his side had 5 or below. FURIA smashed VP on both maps 13-3 and 13-5 respectively sending them straight to the playoffs and leaving Virtus.pro to fight another day to secure their playoff spot.

Spirit vs Na’Vi

In the second 2-0 game of the day, Spirit took on Na’Vi. Na’Vi looked really weak in this matchup, with little to no coordination between the players. However, on the side of Spirit this was the complete opposite side of the spectrum. They played great CS and of course ‘donk’ top fragged both maps sending them straight to the playoffs in Austin and leaving Na’Vi to fight for their spot tomorrow.

paiN vs Nemiga

The Brazilian side paiN played against Nemiga in their elimination game. Fortunately for paiN they were able to reverse sweep the Russian side of Nemiga sending them packing from the Major and leaving paiN tom fight another day to survive elimination

MOUZ vs Liquid

The second elimination game of the day, was an unexpected one. Two great teams, MOUZ and Liquid had to play to see who would be leaving the Major on a swift exit. Both teams won one map each leaving them both to fight on the decider of Mirage. This game was incredibly incredibly close with the game going to triple OT! In the end, MOUZ were able to clutch up and survive elimination sending Liquid packing from the Austin Major. Ultimate for the side of Liquid went 45-25 and Spinx went 39-26 for MOUZ.
