After the first day of competition in Stage 2, where teams have been battling it out to get ever closer to the playoff stage, there have been a lot of upsets and quite remarkable scores. Most notably, Falcons heading to the 0-2 bracket for tomorrow, fighting for survival in Austin!

FaZe vs HEROIC

The first game of the day was the highly anticipated FaZe vs HEROIC. After the shit talk from s1mple calling HEROIC “fucking bots”, we expected a grudge match between both teams. FaZe came into this game with one thing in their head, win the game. They were able to win the half 10-2 with s1mple hitting crazy shots on the AWP and go 13-2 at the half. After the beef between yxngstxr and s1mple, yxngstxr actually ended the game 1-16 with HEROIC losing 13-3. frozen was able to clutch a 1v3 with a deagle and secure match point for the side of FaZe. FaZe now go 1-0 in Stage 2 and HEROIC 0-1.

B8 vs Falcons

B8 have ruined thousands of pickem’s in the first game by defeating the favorite side of Falcons!B8 were able to lead 9-3 at the half with m0NESY going 5-8, kyxsan 1-6 and magisk 2-10! Not a great start for the super star team in their first matchup. Alex666 was able to lead B8 to victory going 15-7 in the best of one.

OG vs Virtus.pro

Virtus.pro took on OG in their first best of one of the day. OG were extremely strong in Stage 1 but they were really struggling in their first game of Stage 2 today. They were destroyed 13-2 by the side of VP. VP were up 7-0, with nicoodoz going 0-7 also with 13 adr! However, on round 8, OG got their first round and he got his first kill after their full execute on A site. The half finished 10-2 in favor of VP, with buzz going 1-10 and nicoodoz 2-10. icy and electronic had an incredible CT side going 14-6 and 13-4 respectively. VP now go to the 1-0 bracket with OG going 0-1.

3DMAX vs BetBoom

3DMAX took on the side of BetBoom. The French side looked unshakable in this matchup as they were able to best the Russian side. 3DMAX were able to lead the half 9-3 with all members of the roster putting up numbers on the scoreboard. BetBoom loosing the second pistol, secures their own fate. They now go to the 0-1 bracket with 3DMAX heading to the 1-0 looking incredibly strong.

FURIA vs Lynn Vision

FURAI took on the side of Lynn Vision, one of the Chinese teams to make it to Stage 2. FURIA were able to glide their way to victory beating Lynn Vision 13-4! Rookie Major player molody, went 21-5 in his first ever game at a Major so props to the young talent! FURIA now go 1-0 and Lynn Vision 0-1.

paiN vs Nemiga

paiN took on Nemiga in their first matchup. They were able to take down the side of Nemiga 13-7 in the best of one! They head to the 1-0 pool leaving Nemiga 0-1.

MIBR vs Legacy

MIBR were to face off against Legacy in their first game of the day. Legacy were able to take down their Brazilian counter-part 13-10 in the match. Legacy are still here proving the haters wrong that say they did not deserve to be here in this Major. Legacy head 1-0 and MIBR slide down to 0-1.

M80 vs TYLOO

The NA team M80 lost to their first opponent TYLOO, 13-9 in Stage 2 and head down to the 0-1 bracket. TYLOO progress with a win under their belt, heading to the 1-0 pool.

Virtus.pro vs B8

The Russian side took on the Ukrainian side of B8 in their second game of the day. B8 had went 3-0 in Stage 1 showing their potential as a top team. Unfortunately in their game here in Stage 2, they lost sending them to 1-1 and allowing Virtus.pro to head to the 2-0 bracket.

paiN vs FURIA

A Brazilian rivalry, paiN and FURIA play against each other to decide who will be going 2-0 in Stage 2. paiN were able to best FURIA and send them to the 1-1 bracket and sending paiN up to that 2-0 bracket for a chance to head straight to Stage 3.

3DMAX vs Legacy

3DMAX took on the side of Legacy. In their first game 3DMAX pummeled BetBom 13-4 and looked incredibly strong. However, Legacy again were bale to beat the French side and are heading to the 2-0 bracket shockingly! That leaves 3DMAX in the 1-1 bracket for tomorrow.

FaZe vs TYLOO

FaZe, obvious favorites, were able to best TYLOO 13-5 in their second game of the day, keeping a lot of the communities pickem’s alive! The GOAT looks like he is really enjoying CS again and is AWPing incredibly well.

BetBoom vs HEROIC

BetBoom took on HEROIC after their first loss today in Austin. HEROIC were able to shut them down 13-9 and send them to the 0-2 bracket and sending them to the 1-1 bracket.

Falcons vs Lynn Vision

An incredible upset from the side of Lynn Vision against the second/ third best team in the world right now. They were able to shockingly take down the side of Falcons 13-9 on one of Falcons best maps Nuke! Westmelon went 25-14 with magisk only getting 2 kills on the T-side. Lynn Vision send Falcons to the 0-2 bracket. Yup, the 0-2 bracket! Lynn Vision are now 1-1!

M80 vs OG

M80 took on the side of OG who had a relatively good run in Stage 1 of the Major. M80 were able to comeback from 12-6 to 12-12 , winning 6 consecutive rounds in a row and forcing overtime. M80 were able to close it out 16-13 in overtime cementing the best comeback fo the Major so far! This puts M80 1-1 now and sends OG to fight in the 0-2 bracket for survival to stay in the Major.

MIBR vs Nemiga

MIBR and Nemiga battled it out to decide who would be sent down to the 0-2 bracket with the threat of elimination looming over them. With such a close game, Nemiga were able to close it out with a flawless overtime and win the game 16-12. Nemiga now head to the 1-1 bracket and MIBR have to fight to stay in the Major tomorrow being in the 0-2 bracket.
