Day 2 of Stage 1 at the BLAST Austin Major has concluded. After the second day a lot of people’s pick’em challenge predictions have been thrown out the window, most notably with the two most picked 0-3 teams playing each other for the 0-3 slot…

We will take another dive into the games and score lines of each game for Stage 1 – Day 2 of The Austin Major!

BetBoom vs Legacy

The first game of the day was between BetBoom and Legacy who were both 1-1 in the stage. BetBoom were able to flatten Legacy 13-3 and secure their 2-1 slot, leaving legacy to join the 1-2 bracket playing for elimination.Original image via HLTVorg

Complexity vs NRG

Another two teams fighting for the chance of not being eliminated was Complexity and NRG. NRG have come into this tournament looking stronger than they have been the last couple months, besting Complexity who do unfortunately have a stand-in for the Major. NRG move to the 2-1 bracket and Complexity play for elimination in the 1-2 bracket.Original image via HLTVorg

OG vs Tyloo

OG have had fabulous games here at the Major and awful games here at the Major, however coming into the match against TYLOO they were in their unstoppable mood, completely annihilating TYLOO 13-4! They move into the 2-1 bracket and leave TYLOO fighting for their chance to stay in the tournament.Original image via HLTVorg

Lynn Vision vs Nemiga

Nemiga coming into this game were the underdogs, Lynn Vision were the favourites to take the game in this best of one. However, Nemiga held their ground defeating Lynn Vision in a close 13-10 victory sending them up to the 2-1 bracket and leaving Lynn Vision with the thought of elimination from the Major.Original image via HLTVorg

HEROIC vs FlyQuest

HEROIC and FlyQuest were coming into this game both strong on 2-0 wins. This game was for 3-0 giving them direct access to move on to Stage 2 of the Major.

FlyQuest looked very structured in their last games and were the same against the HEROIC side but they just could not keep up with such a talented squad whoe beat them 2-1 in the series and progress 3-0 leaving FlyQuest to fight another day to progress!Original image via HLTVorg

B8 vs Wildcard

B8 took on Wildcard to see who would directly head to Stage 2 of the Major. After an incredibly close game on Train where Wildcard were able to steal victory with a 16-14 score line, B8 were able to smash their way through the next 2 maps securing their 3-0 run in Stage 1. They thrashed Wildcard 13-6 and 13-2 to progress to the next stage. Wildcard have a couple more games now to prove why they are here at the Major.Original image via HLTVorg

Imperial vs Metizport

Moving into possibly the most important games of the day, starting with Imperial vs Metizport. This game was the deciding game for who would be exiting the Major without a win under their belt. Imperial were able to smoke Metizport and send them packing from Austin 0-3, leaving the Brazilian side to fight another day.Original image via HLTVorg

Chinggis Warriors vs Fluxo

Another two teams fighting to survive another day in Austin was Chinggis Warriors and Fluxo who both came into this game 0-2 knowing one of them would be heading home. With the first two games being very close and going to both teams, the deciding map was a white wash from the Chinggis Warriors, defeating Fluxo 13-2 on Nuke and sending them packing from their Major opportunity.

Conclusion:

Another great day of Counter-Strike with some incredible plays and unlikely upsets, we say bye to Fluxo and Metizport and see B8 and HEROIC heading straight to Stage 2, leaving the other teams to battle it out to join them in games tomorrow.
